Universalism versus Particularism is an idea sent by Fons Trompenaars, a Dutch creator. Fundamentally, this measurement inquires as to whether which is increasingly essential to you, rules or connections. The Universalist, or rule-based, approach is generally: â€Å"What is acceptable and right can be characterized and ALWAYS applies. † In particularistic societies, far more prominent consideration is given to the commitments of connections and one of a kind conditions. Universalism versus Particularism demonstrates how a general public applies rules of ethics and morals. In a Universal society, for example, the U. S. , rules and agreements are created which can apply in any circumstance. For instance, take the instance of attempting to go across the road at the red light. In a very standard based society like the U. S. , you will in any case be grimaced at regardless of whether there is no traffic. It will in general suggest uniformity as in all people, or residents, falling under the standard ought to be dealt with the equivalent. Despite what might be expected, in Asian social orders like Taiwan, where particularist decisions center around the excellent idea of conditions, it is probably going to approve of one on the off chance that it is his/her siblings or companions that abuse the traffic rule. These individuals are not â€Å"citizens†, however their â€Å"friends† or â€Å"brothers†. This distinction presumably clarifies why there have been troubles in executing a legal framework that is valid in our nation. Solid universalist societies utilize the court to intercede clashes. The more all inclusive a nation is the more prominent is the need to secure reality. Worldwide working organizations think almost certain in a universalistic manner. At the point when universalistic specialists consent to an agreement identifying with a high worth arrangement there are consistently attorneys required to guarantee that everything about accurately referenced and ensured by a section. On the off chance that one gathering would break a piece of the submitted bargain it is conceivable to draw the outcomes and sue the partner. In particularisticic societies lawful agreements don’t just stay faithful to their commitments something is recorded on paper. More than that they trust, depend and put stock in the business relationship which was develop in the time before the agreement was examined. Chinese representatives trust particularly on connections between the accomplices and exacting guidelines/definitions would presumably irritate/affront the accomplice since they would get the possibility that they aren’t trustful and are con artist. The significance of connections again strength be painstakingly thought of and considered particularly from universalistic societies when managing particularistic societies. Chinese attempt to keep the agreements ambiguous and not very tied. It may happen that Chinese specialists will in any case attempt to haggle a while later even the agreement was at that point marked/shut and concurred from all locales. In dealings Chinese will invest a ton of energy in working up a relationship with their colleagues so the genuine exchange will be toward the finish of the gathering time. While Americans managing Chinese, Americans frequently attempt to close arrangements as quick as could be expected under the circumstances. In any case, because of the Chinese method to make bargains the Americans may submit a bigger number of points of interest than previously suspected just to surge forward and close an arrangement. This can be a preferred position for particularistic societies. Universalist societies center typically more around rules than on connections. For example American workers contend hard for better employment positions and to move up in the progressive system and win more cash. They do this without thinking about associates and the relationship with them. In examination, particularistic societies like China center vigorously around connections. When working with/overseeing particularistic, universalists should construct casual systems and make private understandings just as they should attempt to search for reasonableness in working together by treating and looking on cases each as a particular one. Particularistic societies evade unbending or normalized frameworks to oversee across societies. They rather want to leave some space for changes which may happen later on process. A few generalizations state that Germans are gifted to fabricate framework and Americans are incredible to create and design new items/thoughts. At the point when markets turned out to be increasingly individual and explicit the USA came into issue with their method of large scale manufacturing and mass promoting. Particularly in rivalry with particularistic nations likes France who is orientated on individual and altered items.

4 Functions of Management - 1096 Words

The management process contains four basic functions; planning, organizing, leading and controlling. By using these key tools, one can create an organization as a whole consisting of unified parts acting in harmony to achieve goals, both successfully and proficiently. The functions of management are described, according to (Bateman, Snell, 2004) as follows: Planning is specifying the goals to be achieved and deciding in advance the appropriate actions needed to achieve those goals. Peer Pressure Affects Academic Performance of Second Year...

Title: Peer Pressure Affects Academic Performance of Second Year Students Dependent Variable: Academic performance of second year students Independent Variable: Peer Pressure Objective: To know how academic performance among second year high school students is being affected by peer pressure. Introduction: To be successful in life, one must begin by being successful in school. In high school, we were all told to work hard so that we could get good grades and scores that would get us into a good college, eventually getting us a good career. And that was success. School and school-related activities, over a period of time, are essential in an adolescent’s life. Peer pressure can also have a positive effect that can lead to a better academic performance. Being in a group with motivated people who understand the importance of learning and have a drive to succeed can motivate others in that peer group to do just as well. Of course, in order to fit into a group, we usually conform to the ways of the group. So if it is the norm that members of the group are motivated and take academic success seriously, to be accepted by the group means to perform the way they expect their in-group members to perform. Also, when we are identified with a successful group, this motivates a member of the group to also always be successful. By being part of the group and being recognized as so, we may gain greater self-confidence and greater feelings of self-efficacy for academic tasks We can solve poor academic performance by choosing the peer group we wish to join. Becoming accepted by a certain peer group is not just good for our social reputations, it is also very good for our academic reputation. Choosing good friends is like choosing success over failure. We should choose wisely because friends in our peer group can have much more of an influence on us than we think. Immanuel Kants Essay Example For Students

Immanuel Kants Essay Moreover, the insecurity in the individual is ever more transparent and stronger in the state. Thus, very similar to Carr, the state as a collective body is very much continually searching to expand their power. Fundamentally, Niebuhr argument criticizes the moral collectivity that Kant saw the state developing. Niebuhr would not support the state as developing into a moral collectivity of human beings but rather would argue that the sin of human nature would be further brought out by the collectivity of human beings. We will write a custom essay on Immanuel Kants specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Hans Morgenthau would likely criticize Immanuel Kants view of international politics upholding realist thoughts to their basic nature. Lust for power and selfishness characterizes human nature. 33 Moreover, the nature of human beings cannot be changed no matter which way the state or international system of states is organized. 34 The state is transparent of the individual in the state. The state basically works for the achievement of its national interests as the human being does within the state. 35 Morgenthau argues that the state is simply the main actor in international relations. For that reason, international politics is a struggle for power and satisfaction of ones national interest. Morgenthau argues, mainly in reference to the American foreign policy, there is three flaws in international politics: utopianism, legalism, and neoisolationism. 36 Smith writes, throughout the World War II, Americans believed that the Grand Alliance could continue after its conclusion and that it would be possible to transcend power politics and enjoy permanent peace. 37 However, as Morgenthau shows, the alliance remained intact until the end of the war. Morgenthaus argument was basically peace is only respite from trouble. 38 Morgenthaus examination of the United States failure of legalism is best characterized by Americas ignorant belief that legal obedience would occur in this international system of states. 39 For example, the belief the United Nations would recieve full obedience from states is a exaggeration that legalism will completely exist in international politics. 40 However, as history progressed, the League of Nations did not last. The last failure is neoisolationism. Morgenthau argues neoisolationism leads state leadership to believe it can handle all the issues in international politics on its terms. 41 Morgenthau examination of the United States foreign policy during the Cold War/ Nuclear Age presents the arguments that continual attempt at peace will be a continual failure, strikingly contrasting Kants view of international politics. During this period, there was continual nuclear escalation and civil wars, not peace. An examination of realist thinkers and their possible criticisms to Kant compels me to completely disregard Immanuel Kants theory as a strong examination of international politics. Kant exaggerates the ability of the human beings to develop a moral state, otherwise transforming human nature. Furthermore, Kant basically is too idealist. He views the system of international politics not as what it is but rather as what it should be. His optimism should be appreciated but ultimately ignored when discussing the current state of international politics. Hans Morgenthau presents the most persuasive argument because he incorporates the strong points of Max Weber, E. H. Carr, and Reinhold Niebuhr. Morgenthaus examination of the failures in the United States foreign policy concludes, similar to Weber examination of ultimate ends, that following morality as the main basis for decision making becomes irrational. This assessment is fair and persuasive if you examine the current system of states. For example, if peace was the key principle for countries, war would disappear but it remains present. Morgenthau recognizes the continual struggle for power, that E. H. Carr and Niebuhr emphasize is ever omnipresent in international politics. .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 , .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .postImageUrl , .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 , .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:hover , .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:visited , .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:active { border:0!important; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:active , .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1 .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uabde8b2ef4ed5be7a098d357306039e1:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The American Dream EssayMorgenthaus conclusion that the state cannot transform the nature of the human being is a fair assessment because the current system of states includes states characterized by irrational and immoral leaders like the recently dethroned Taliban. Lastly, Morgenthaus argument is most persuasive when studying his theory in the context of recent history, particularly the Cold War. Morgenthaus examination of the Soviets alliance of states and United States alliance of states presented a bipolarity and balance of power very absent in international politics. 42 These alliances were created as security to the states in this system. Appropriately, these alliances only reaffirm the belief that the security and struggle for power is key to international politics. Morgenthaus argument is persuasive because it can be applied to the international politics of today. 1 Immanuel Kant, Kants Political Writings, trans by H. B. Why Should Christians Value Art? Essay In the world, there are many different types of art. There is poetry, dance, song, comedy, film, architecture, painting, stories, symphonies, theater, and many more. What would it be like without it? If you would take a moment to realize what the world would be like without art, it would be a very bland place and there would not be much entertainment. These all are creative activities. God gives us talents to do certain ones very well, and some not so well. Creativity is a great human experience and definitely should not be taken for granted. Creativity can show that there is something eternal and full of truth behind this temporary world we live in today. It can show us the pain in us or even the joy in us. Creativity is complex and can bring out many emotions in us through poetry, which brings us together, Music, that moves us, paintings that show many different designs and viewpoints of life and many more forms. True valuable art is slowly fading in our generation and creativity is being shown more on websites we visit and even in the advertisements online. Everyone has been seeing it. If you are to go online, you can see photography of different things. On some pages you will find bright happy colored pictures and on some you will find gloomy, sad photos. This shows you the aspect of their life and how they may be living it. On some peoples â€Å"profiles† you can see profanity and bad pictures of them, and you can see that they are not living a very godly life. To those people you need to show them the Lord and how art can be used for other things then expressing hate. In 1 Corinthians: 25-26 it shows a model for churches where all different types of people are united into the community, Christians need to incorporate artists and make them feel comfortable in the church because we need to understand that art is a way for us to show scenes of the Bible and although they may not be cute scenes painted, its what really happened like the bloody scenes, naked people, and crosses. These things do not have to be hidden and should be put on display in church. Christians may think that rap or some bands are bad, but if they are preaching the right message, like about a sermon or what Jesus had done for us, they are amazing and wonderful to show us more and move us. Everyday chapel sermons may not get to some audiences but music, dance, theatre, and more can reach people more deeply and help them wrap their mind around the concept clearly. Churches need to be more open about sponsoring different art programs that praise the Holy One and not just be focused on one type of preaching the gospel. There is also an entire range of art devoted to, and aimed at the secular world. This art is also very important to our lives and deserves more than mention. Art is a personal thing that has value beyond understanding.
